Web Ecology (WE) charges no article processing charges or in fact any other fee to authors and readers. This mode of publication is commonly referred to as Diamond Open Access.
Maintaining a publishing infrastructure is not without cost. Copernicus Publications puts the same level of care, dedication, and sophistication into articles published in WE as in any other journal we host. Respective costs for typesetting, dissemination, archiving, and outreach are covered by the European Ecological Federation who generously supports the Diamond Open Access philosophy and thereby ensures barrier-free access to a high-quality publishing venue for anyone.
